Mandy Schlote

I am a lifelong Letchworth Garden City resident and qualified as a Medical Secretary from Hitchin College back in 1987 after studying there for two years.  I used to be a bit of a scooter girl owning a Lambretta (until I dropped it and couldn’t pick the thing up).  I am now a Fellow of the Association of Medical Secretaries, Practice Administrators and Receptionists.

 

A keen ‘no-dig’ gardener, I spend most of my spare time growing vegetables, herbs and cut flowers organically as well as compost-making, and also enjoy cycling, being outdoors and have always walked in the Alps. I love dressing smart for work but am at my best in scruffs, holey jumper and wellies!  My favourite film is ‘Carlito’s Way’, I like to dance in my kitchen, but my driving music has to be a bit of Puccini or Adagio for Strings, at full blast.

I am mum of two very clever grown-ups and miss them immensely now they have left home studying at University.

When I started holiday cover work at London Ear Clinic back in June 2019 the team made me feel very welcome so I never left!  We have since got through Lockdown, CoViD, expanded, moved premises, and are now based at OneWelbeck.  It is great providing a personal service and being present to meet all the staff and liaising with patients to enable a smooth, personal experience.  We all look after each other and care deeply to enable us to the best of our abilities.
