Nishchay Mehta

Consultant ENT Surgeon

Prof Nish Mehta is a Consultant ENT Surgeon, Otologist (super-specialised ear surgeon), and Auditory Implant surgeon (surgically implanting technological solutions when hearing aids are no longer sufficient). He specialises in the medical and surgical management of children’s and adults’ ENT problems.

He graduated with double distinction from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Medical School and completed his advanced surgical training in leading London hospitals, including Great Ormond Street, St Bartholomew’s, Royal National ENT and Imperial Trust hospitals. He gained a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, and undertook further international surgical training in the USA, Netherlands and India. He was then selected to train to become one of the UK’s handful of hearing implant surgeons as part of the prestigious Graham Fraser Memorial Fellowship in Sydney, Australia..

 

Prof Nish Mehta is an Associate Professor of deafness and hearing health at the internationally renowned Ear Institute, within UCL. Here he leads a body of funded research and supervises masters and PhD students on improving detection and treatments for hearing abnormalities. He has over 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is author in three medical textbooks.
